In a dynamic industry full of young talent and raw ambition, we’re in constant search for great account managers. So what makes a great account manager and what skills and attributes does such a person possess? As someone who’s hired and trained account managers for a while, I have a few thoughts on this topic.
The responsibilities of an account manager will differ from company to company so I first need to define my expectations of an account manager in the search industry. At its highest level, the role of an account manager is to keep both the client and the agency happy with an account, focusing not only on their client relationships but also maintaining excellent internal relationships with all those who touch their account. While Quality Score is complex calculation, understanding the fundamentals of this calculation can enable marketers to run cost-effective and profitable SEM campaigns. Unlike most advertisers focused on bids, eSearchVision has experienced great results when focusing first on Quality Score (QS). The eSearchVision office in New York was invited to attend the NASDAQ Opening Ceremony on Cyber Monday along with other Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) members. Dana Todd, Chairperson of the Board of Directors for SEMPO, presided over the Opening Bell on Cyber Monday, December 1, 2008.
Dana spoke about SEMPO’s growth in the past five years, the strength of Search Engine Marketing, and the significance of ringing the bell on Cyber Monday.
